What the checklist covers
Remove only as directed by the manufacturer, wash if suitable, and let them dry fully before refitting.
Use a torch to look past the filter for obvious dust or dark buildup. Do not dismantle live electrical equipment.
Note whether a musty odour appears when the unit first starts and whether it returns after filter cleaning.
Compare airflow across the outlet and note weak sections or a noticeable change from previous use.
Look for dripping, staining or water where it should not be. Switch the system off if water is near electrical parts.
Record the last professional clean so the next decision is based on history rather than guesswork.
